m.o.m. builder
Versa methods can be optimized with the M.O.M. feature. This module allows the user to optimize each parameter in
the method to achieve the best possible analytical results.
To enter the M.O.M. feature the user must select the button labeled “M.O.M. Builder” from the schedule screen. A pop
up window appears to begin the M.O.M. process. From the builder, the user selects what base method you want to
start as the basis of the optimization process. A drop down menu lists the method parameters that can be optimized
such as Platen/Sample Temperature, Sample Equilbration Time, Mixing Time, Loop Fill Time and Inject Time Pressurize.
Once a method parameter has been chosen to optimize the user must then select the optimization range.
start Value
Refers to the starting value that is in the method, for example; a platen/sample temperature
of 40
o
C.
offset Value
The increment value refers to the amount that the parameter of choice will increment during
the optimization process, for example; a value of 10 will increment the platen/sample
temperature 10
o
C every sample. The first sample will be at 40
o
C, the next sample at 50
o
C and
so on.
Increment Value
Refers to how many times the analyst wishes to increment the optimization value. A value of
3 will increase the platen/sample temperature to analyze a sample at 40
o
C, 50
o
C, and 60
o
C.
The other settings in the M.O.M. Builder deal with adding the samples to a sample schedule.
start pos.
Refers to the place in the schedule that the analyst wishes to begin the optimization. A
selection of “3” will begin the optimization process at line 3 of the sample schedule.
replicates
Refers to the amount of replicates the user is selecting to test each optimization parameter.
Selecting “2” will run each increment of the optimization process in duplicate.
apply
Completes the process and adds the optimization settings to the sample schedule.
