VX1411A IntelliFrame Mainframe Instruction Manual

Fan Speed Control

The Fan Speed switch controls the speed of the system cooling fans. When the
switch is set to the variable position, the fans are set to a variable speed to reduce
fan noise. The fans are automatically adjusted by the mainframe to minimize fan
noise and provide appropriate cooling. When the switch is in the FULL position,
the fans operate at full speed.

The fans’ speed varies by the level of the ambient air temperature:

H

Air temperatures less than 20

C the fans operate at minimum speed

H

Air temperatures between 0 to 50

C the fans speed linearly increase with

temperature

H

Air temperatures greater than 50

C fans operate at full fan speed

The power supply is adequately cooled for any load condition when the fan
speed is placed in either the VAR or FULL speed position.
