com ponents may affect i nstrument accuracy.
To ensure i n strument accuracy, check the cal i bration
every 2000 hours of operation, or every six m o n t h s if used
i nfrequently.
Before complete cali bration, thoroughly clean and
i nspect this instrument as o u t l i n e d in the servi ce secti on of
the
Power
Module manual . The

mai ntenance, compo­
nent identification and repl acement, etc.

instrument repair
and calibration at local Field Service Centers and at

Dangerous potentials
exist
at several
points
throughtout
this
instrument. When the instrument
is
operated
with
the
covers removed,
d
o not
touch
exposed connections or components. Disconnect
power by removing
the SC 502 from the TM 500-
Series Power Module before cleaning the instrument
or
replacing
parts. The
SC 502
M
OD
E
switch
PWR
OFF
position
does
not
remove al/ power from the
oscilloscope.
Preliminary Procedure
NO TE
The
performance
of this instrument can be checked
at any temperature within the 0°
C to
+50°
C
range.
Make any
adjustment
at a temperature of
+25° C,
±5° C.
1 . Check that
the power
is O FF i n both t he SC 502 and
TM 500
Series
Power
Module.
2. Connect
the
nomi nal l i ne s
e
l e ct
o
r
bl ock
of the
Power
Module to the correct l i ne sel ector pi ns ( 1 20 V ac or
220 V ac) . Also check that the regulat i ng range sel ected

i ncl udes the input l i ne
voltage.
