Troubleshooting

Isolating failures to the 80EXX/80CXX modules or the mainframe

To determine if the sampling module or the mainframe failed, do the follwing:

1.

Perform the module compensation.

2.

Perform the measurement procedures you require to make your test.

3.

If the instrument fails to complete the measurement, remove the sampling
module and install it in another slot.

4.

Repeat steps 1 and 2, and then take the following action:

If the instrument successfully completes the measurement, there is a good

chance that the mainframe channel has failed. Perform other mainframe
diagnostics in this section.

If the instrument fails to complete the measurement, there is a good chance

the sampling module has failed. Return the module to Tektronix for repair.
