1.  Isolate

 the trouble to a portion of the circuit if possible.

 the affected circuit.

3.

  Check

 the voltage in the circuit.

 Typical operating

 on the schematic diagram.

4.

 

Check waveforms in 

the circuit

 with another oscilloscope.

5.  Check the 

components in

 the circuit (i.e., check for faulty 

capacitors,
