enclosed w ith in heavy black lines. Also w ith in the black
lines, near either the to p or the b o tto m edge, are the
assembly number and name o f the c irc u it board.
Component numbers and electrical values o f com po
nents in this instrum ent are shown on the schematic
diagrams. Refer to the firs t page o f the "D iagram s" section
fo r d e fin ition s o f the reference designators and symbols
used to id e n tify components. Im p o rta n t voltages and wave
form reference numbers (enclosed in hexagonal-shaped
boxes) are also shown on each diagram. Waveform illus
trations are located adjacent to th e ir respective schematic
diagram, and the physical location o f each waveform test
p o in t is shown on the appropriate c irc u it board illu stra tio n .
Circuit Board illustrations
C ircu it board illustrations (showing the physical location
o f each com ponent) are provided fo r use in conjunction
w ith each schematic diagram. Each board illu stra tio n can
be found on the back side o f a fo ld o u t page, preceding the
schematic diagram(s) to w hich it relates. If more than one
schematic diagram is associated w ith a p articular c irc u it
board, the board illustration is located on a left-hand
page preceding the diagram w ith w hich the board is firs t
associated.
Also provided in the "D iagram s" section is an illus
tra tio n o f the b ottom side o f the Main c irc u it board. This
drawing facilitates troubleshooting by showing the con
nection pads and the location o f components th a t are
m ounted on the to p side o f the board. Probing o f Main
board com ponent signals th a t are inaccessible fro m the
