REQUIREMENT— Dispersion accuracy must equal or ex
ceed 3%.
a. The equipment setup for this step is shown in Fig. 5-11.
b. A pply 10 ns and 1 /is markers from the Time-Mark
Generator (Type 184) through a 40 dB attenuator pad (2, 10X
Attenuators), 50 Q termination and proper adapter to the RF
INPUT connector.
c. CHECK— the range of the IF CENTER FREQ control. Fre
quency range must equal or exceed -f- and — 2.5 MHz from
its centered (000) position.
d. Center the IF CENTER FREQ controls. Set the DISPER
SION selector to 50kHz/cm .
e. Depress the 10 ns and 10 /.is Marker Selector buttons on
the Time-Mark Generator.
f. CHECK— the range of the IF CENTER FREQ-FINE control.
Frequency range must equal or exceed + and — 50 kHz from
the centered position.
g. Set the DISPERSION selector to the 500 kHz position
and center the IF CENTER FREQ controls. A pply 10 ns and 1
/is time-markers to the RF INPUT.
