Maintenance (Continued)
2. Disconnect air volume control (AVC)
tubing and turn AVC 180°
counterclockwise. Any water in AVC
will then drain back into tank (See
Figure 21).
CLEANING DEEP WELL EJECTOR
1. Disconnect power.
2. Disconnect piping and well seal or
well casing adapter. (If pitless
adapter is used, piping does not
have to be disconnected).
3. Withdraw ejector assembly from
well.
4. Unscrew and remove pipe adapter
(if used).
5. Unscrew and remove the venturi.
Remove nozzle with a socket
wrench, if possible.
6. Clean nozzle as explained under
Step 8, “Cleaning Shallow Well
Ejector”, Page 16).
7. Reverse steps 1 through 5 to
reassemble.
PUMP DISASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect power to motor.
2. Disconnect wires to pressure switch.
NOTE: Mark wires for correct
reassembly.
3. Remove pressure switch tube from
barbed fitting on pump body and
allow pump to drain.
4. Remove four capscrews (Ref. No. 17,
Figure 36) and slide motor, seal
plate, impeller, and diffuser (Ref.
Nos. 1, 3, 6 and 7) away from pump
body as a unit.
CLEANING/REPLACING IMPELLER
NOTE: First, follow instructions under
“Pump Disassembly”.
1. Remove diffuser from seal plate
(See Figure 24). Exposed impeller
can now be cleaned.
2. If impeller must be replaced, loosen
two machine screws and remove
motor canopy. If motor has a
capacitor, go to step 3. If motor
does not have a capacitor, go to
step 4.
CAPACITOR VOLTAGE MAY BE
HAZARDOUS. To discharge capacitor,
hold insulated handle screwdriver BY
THE HANDLE and short capacitor
terminals together. Do not touch
metal screwdriver blade or capacitor
terminals. If in doubt, consult a
qualified electrician.
3. Unscrew capacitor clamp and
remove capacitor. Do not disconnect
capacitor wires to motor.
4. Slide 7/16” open end wrench in
behind spring loaded switch on
motor end of shaft; hold motor
shaft with wrench on shaft flats and
unscrew impeller by turning
counterclockwise when looking into
eye of impeller (Figures 25 and 26).
5. To reinstall, reverse steps 1
through 5.
6. See directions under “Pump
Reassembly”, Page 17.
