Gain control
mode
Gain is an electronic way of increasing the video signal to control the
exposure. Higher gain values introduce more noise in the image.
Auto
The camera automatically controls gain. A
maximum can be set via the Max auto gain
parameter.
Manual
Enables gain configuration via the Manual gain
parameter.
Actual gain
Auto gain control
mode only
Shows current gain level.
Manual gain
Manual gain control
mode only
Drag the slider to set a gain value manually.
Max auto gain
Auto gain control
mode only
Drag the slider to set an upper limit for automatic
gain control.
Shutter mode
The shutter speed determines how long the image sensor is exposed to
light.
Auto
The camera automatically controls the shutter
speed. Use Min shutter time and Max shutter
time to set shutter speed limits.
Manual
Enables shutter speed configuration via the
Manual shutter list.
Min shutter
time
Auto shutter mode
only
Determines the minimum shutter speed.
Selecting Minimal sets the minimum shutter
speed to 1/10000 s.
Max shutter
time
Auto shutter mode
only
Determines the maximum shutter speed.
Manual shutter
Manual shutter
mode only
Enables you to set a shutter speed. To see clear
images in a dark environment, select a slow
shutter speed.
Transition
speed
Slow, Medium, Fast
Controls the transition time span between
subsequent exposure levels. With a slow setting,
the camera takes more time to adjust to a new
light situation.
EV
compensation
The camera is calibrated to expose images correctly for scenes that have
a mix of light and dark areas. Use exposure value (EV) compensation for
scenes where the major part of the image is either very bright or very
dark. For a very bright scene (snow, for example), set the EV value as a
positive number (+1/3 EV ~ +2 EV). For very dark scenes, set a
negative EV value (-1/3 EV ~ -2 EV).
Metering area
Auto, Center, Left, Right, Top, Bottom
Defines what zone of the
image is to have most weight
in measuring the exposure of
the entire scene.
Backlight
compensation
In images with a bright light source behind the subject of interest, use
backlight compensation to adjust the exposure of the entire image to
expose the subject in the foreground properly.
Wide dynamic
range
In images with indoor and outdoor contrast issues, use wide dynamic
range to adjust exposure in areas of the image to preserve greater
scene detail in both the shadows and highlights of the image.
