CHECK OIL LEVEL
Fluid type and capacities are listed in the lubrication
section in the General Maintenance chapter.
The transaxle has two separate oil chambers on each
side. One is for the brake and one is for the drive gears.
When checking oil levels, all four chambers should be
inspected.
Each chamber has a level plug (see illustrations).
Park the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking
brake.
Remove the level plugs.
A small amount of oil should come out when the level
plugs are removed.
If no oil comes out, add oil through the fill plug as required
for each chamber.

CHANGE OIL

When changing oil, the oil in all four chambers should
be changed.
Each chamber has a drain plug (see illustrations).
Park the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking
brake.
Remove the drain plugs and allow all oil to drain from
the chambers.
Reinstall the drain plugs and refill with oil. Refer to the
Check Oil Level procedure to add oil.
