680/750 Post Hole Driver

Driver

1. Models with an earth auger attachment:

•

Use the planetary earth auger system to pre

-

drill a pilot hole if the soil conditions are rocky, frozen, or too

difficult to simply drive the post into the ground

•

Put the diverter valve lever fully in  the

down

”

position to enable the Driver

-

Breaker hydraulics.

2. Using the Post Driver requires a second person to position the post. This person will set the post at the
desired location and grasp the post securely, making sure their hands are at least 30 inches  from the top of the
post.

•

Do not operate the hydraulic controls until the second person is clear from the work area!

3. After the post is in position, move the operating vehicle with arms raised, and position the Post Drive
directly over the top of the post.

•

Never allow anyone to stand under the Post Driver at any time!

4. Lower the Post Driver over the top of the post making sure the post is inside the bottom portion of the Post
Driver. Continue to lower until the weight of the Post Driver is supported by the post.

•

When the post is in place, the second person must move away from the Post Driver and skid steer.

5. The second person  must clear the area at this time. Place the loader arms in float. If the skid steer is not
equipped with a float function, lower the loader arms applying pressure to the post.

6. Adjust the position of the skid steer until the post is vertical.

7. Activate the Post Driver by moving the auxiliary hydraulics to the forward position. If not using the skid
loader float position, lower the arms as the post is driven into the ground.

8. Drive the post to the desired depth and stop the hydraulic controls. Raise the Post Driver until the post is
cleared and move to the next post.
