Draining the Fuel Tank

Do not smoke or permit open flames
while handling fuel or working on the
fuel system.

Stop the engine in a well-ventilated
place and allow it to cool down before
performing maintenance.

¡
¡

¡
Clean up spilled fuel immediately.
Do this before operating the machine.
1. Remove the fuel filler cap (2).
2. Place a pan under the drain plug (3).
3. Open the drain plug (3) and drain the water
and sediment from the bottom of the tank.
4. Close the drain plug (3).
5. While watching the sight gauge (1), add
fuel.
6. Tighten the fuel filler cap (2) and lock it
with the key.
7. Bleed the air.

Remove the caps (4) and look into the fluid
supply holes to check the fluid level. If the
fluid is below the sleeve (5), be sure to add
distilled water up to the bottom edge of the
sleeve (5).
Proper amount .... (A)
The fluid reaches up to the bottom edge
of the sleeve (5), so the surface tension
causes the fluid to swell and the plate
appears distorted.
Level too low ....... (B)
The fluid does not reach up to the bottom
edge of the sleeve (5), so the plate
appears laminar, not distorted.
5. Also check the terminals for looseness and
dirt.
Replenishing
When adding distilled water, do so before
starting operations in order to prevent
freezing.
1. Remove the caps (4), and add distilled
water up to the upper level (H).
2. Inspect the indicator (3) then it turns blue.
3. Clean the cap’s exhaust hole, then tighten
the caps securely.
