Every 50 Hours
Draining the Fuel Tank
¡
Do not smoke or permit open flames
while handling fuel or working on the
fuel system.
¡
Stop the engine in a well-ventilated
place and allow it to cool down before
performing maintenance.
¡
Clean up spilled fuel immediately.
Do this before operating the machine.
1. Remove the fuel filler cap (2).
2. Place a pan under the drain plug (3).
3. Open the drain plug (3) and drain the water
and sediment from the bottom of the tank.
4. Close the drain plug (3).
5. While watching the sight gauge (1), add
fuel.
6. Tighten the fuel filler cap (2) and lock it
with the key.
7. Bleed the air.
Bleeding the air from the fuel system
Refer to page 143 “Bleeding the Air from the
Fuel System”.
Supplement: Air in the fuel system can make
it difficult to start the engine and cause engine
problems. Also bleed the air when the fuel
tank is emptied.
