Starting the Engine

Do not hold the starter switch in the START
position for more than 15 seconds, as this practice
will overheat the starter motor. If the first attempt to
start the engine fails, wait at least 30 seconds before
trying again.

The engine can be started from both the carrier dri-
ver's cab and crane operator's cab. Normally, however,
use the starter switch in the carrier driver's cab. Use the
switch in the crane operator's cab only when the engine
stalls during operation.

1.
Place the gearshift in the neutral position and acti-
vate the parking brake.
2.
Make sure that the PTO switch is in the OFF posi-
tion.
3.
Turn the starter switch to the START position to
crank the engine.
Starting Engine from Crane Operator's Cab

When the engine is cold, use the starter switch in the
carrier driver's cab.
1.
Turn the starter switch to the START position to
crank the engine. Release the key immediately once the
engine has started.

The starter switch positions and their functions are as
follows:
"START"

Starts the engine. Release the key af-
ter the engine has started. The switch
will automatically return to ON.
"ON"

Supplies current to the electrical
circuits. Keep the key in this position
during crane operation.
"OFF"
・・・・・・・・
The key can be inserted and removed
in this position. Keep the key in this
position when the engine is stationary.
"ACC"
・・・・・・・・
The power windows, fan, washer,
wiper, horn, and flood lamps can be
used with the engine off.
"STOP"
・・・・・・・
Stops the engine. Releasing the key
automatically returns the switch to
“ACC” position.
