5.3.3 Checking the heat exchanger
After a long time of use dust may build up in the exchanger and block the airflow. It is important to clean
the exchanger regularly (once a year) to maintain high efficiency. The heat exchanger can be taken out
of the unit for maintenance (figure 6).
Danger
• Risk of personal injury! The heat exchanger is heavy. There is a risk that the heat exchanger falls
out of the unit.
• Make sure to use proper lifting device or sufficient number of persons to lift the exchanger out of
the unit.
• The heat exchanger is sensitive for impacts. Handle with care.

back the door to be able to unhook the two carabiners. Lower the door carefully. Open the hatch by
removing the 4 screws.
2
Loosen the bolts to the rails (pos 1) that holds the exchanger and pull the rails slightly to the side.
3
Remove the sealing (pos 2) between the exchangers. Remove the exchanger (pos 3) – be careful to
not drop it and causing personal injury or damage the exchanger.
Wash in hot soapy water or use pressure air. Do not use detergent containing ammonia. Mount the
exchanger after cleaning, attach the hatch, close the doors and fasten the safety wires.
