Norton AntiVirus lets you run
different types of scans to detect
and prevent any virus infection
on your computer.
You can use the various
Computer Scan options to select
the scan type, file types to scan,
and the scan schedule. You can
also specify scanning of
compressed files and Microsoft
Office documents. You can
perform a Full System Scan. You
can also individually scan drives,
folders, or files.
The Computer Scan options also
let you specify scans to detect
rootkits, other stealth items,
network drives, tracking cookies,
and unknown security threats.
The Scan Performance Profiles
option lets you configure a
Norton AntiVirus scan based on
the digital signature and trust
level of the files on your
computer.
w You must configure the
Scan Performance Profiles
settings before you run a scan
or before a scan is scheduled to
run. Norton AntiVirus scans your
computer according to the
configuration that you specified
in the Scan Performance Profiles
settings.
