Legal notice
• Depending on the security settings for your Internet Explorer an error message ap-
pears, saying a required ActiveX element cannot be installed or that the installation
of the ActiveX can be started manually by clicking on the information bar.
This ActiveX element is necessary for the camera image to be shown. Please note
that the ActiveX software for the Internet Explorer offers more settings than the
software for other Internet browsers (e.g. Firefox). In order to use all functions of the
camera we recommend that you use Internet Explorer.
• Furthermore, modi
fi
cations to the settings of the antivirus or
fi
rewall programmes
may be required in order to have the softare working
fl
awlessly.
Unfortunately, due to the variety of programmes a description of the precise proce-
dure of the procedure is not possible.
• Further information regarding the software can be found in the English language
operating manual on the accompanying CD (pdf
fi
le).
Connection via WLAN
To connect via WLAN, several settings are required in the menu of the camera.
Therefore the camera must be connected via a RJ45 network cable to your
network
fi
rst (see previous chapter for the procedure) and to be set up for
WLAN operation. As an example the encoding must be selected, the WLAN-IP
address of the camera etc.
Only then is a WLAN operation possble!
• Like many other WLAN devices the settings depend on the available WLAN hardware
and its con
fi
guration.
Based on the multitude of different devices and their con
fi
guration a description of
the precise procedure of the installation of the camera is not possible.
The setting of the camera via WLAN as well as the available WLAN devices requires
specialist network knowledge.
Pay attention to the description in English on the accompanying CD (pdf
fi
le).
• To begin with, connect the camera via a network cable and start the software of the
camera (Internet Explorer!). Afterwards you can carry out all settings by clicking on
the
fi
eld "For Administrator".
Installation
After successful starting, the camera can be mounted to the desired location using the
provided mounting bracket. With the tripod socket at the back of the camera you can
also use other mounting brackets.
Pay attention when drilling and tightening the screws that no cable or pipes
are damaged!
The cable length between camera and router/network switch can be up to 100m.
If you use a WLAN connection it is recommended to test the reception
fi
rst before
mounting the camera.
Proximity to metal parts, cables or electrical/electronic devices has a negative in
fl
u-
ence on the camera's range.
The mounting place must be clean, dry and dust-free, also, installation must not be
carried out in areas where there is a risk of explosion.
Tips & Notes
• If there is a network or system administrator who is responsible for your network (for
example in a larger company) let him set up the connection and the cabling, do not
install the camera yourself!
• The Twisted-Pair cable between camera and router/network switch may be 100m
maximum. Use only 1:1 connected CAT5- or CAT5e cables.
• The image may be focussed by carefully turning the lens. Do not exert any force.
• In darkness the IR LED automatically switches on, the IR light is not visible for the
human eye.
• Further information regarding the software can be found in the English language
operating manual on the accompnaying CD (pdf
fi
le).
