WLAN/LAN colour camera
• The camera must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight,
strong vibrations or heavy mechanical stress.
• Make sure that the connection cable is not pinched or damaged by sharp
edges.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous
playthings for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or ac-
cidental drops, even from a low height.
• If the camera is used with other devices (e.g. a monitor), the operating in-
structions and safety notices for these devices must be followed as well.
• A safe operation can no longer be assumed, if:
- the device shows visible signs of damage,
- the device no longer works
- the device was stored for a long period of time in unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Em-

Materials are to be observed.

while (e.g. for storage).

Getting started, Connection via RJ45
Test the camera before installing it in the desired place.
To make all the settings, the camera should always be connected
fi
rst to the
computer via RJ45. Only when the camera works properly can WLAN operation
be set up.
• Mount the WLAN antenna to the respective connection at the back of the camera.
• Connect the camera's RJ45 connector to a 1:1 connected network cable and its net-
work, e.g. a network switch.
• Connect the low-voltage socket of the camera to the corresponding round plug on
the enclosed power adapter. Insert the plug-in power adapter into a mains socket,
the "power"-LED on the plug-in power adaptor lights up.
There are two more LEDs in the RJ45 socket; one LED indicates the link status (net-
work cable/ connection ok), the other LED indicates data transmission via the LAN
cable (LED is
fl
ashing).
If the camera is ready for operation the green LED "NETWORK" above the power LED
is
fl
ashing.
• Insert the provided CD into the appropriate drive on your computer and start the
installation programme. At the time of writing this operating manual it was located
in the folder "IP cam tools...." (programme name "IPCamSetup.exe").
Follow all the software instructions. It might be necessary to restart Windows after-
wards.
Be aware that the names and descriptions of the installation procedure, as de-
scribed here, may be changed in newer versions of the software. In this case please
observe the accompanying English language operating manual on the CD (pdf).
• Start the software ("IP Camera Tool"). It will search for available cameras in the net-
work. If the camera is shown with its respective IP address, double-click on it.
Please note: In your network a DHCP server must be active (e.g. the DHCP
server of a router). The PC must be con
fi
gured so that it assigns an IP address
automatically. The camera is also assigned an IP address by the DHCP server.
• The main window of the software appears ("Real-time IP Camera Monitoring Sys-
tem"). Enter "admin" into the "User"
fi
eld (lower case characters without quotation
marks), leave the "Password"
fi
eld empty.
• Then click on the button "Login" - whatever Internet browser is being used.
