Check the outer race play and smooth rotation of the bearing by
hand while it is on the pinion gear shaft.
Inspect the pinion gear for wear or damage.
If the pinion gear is damaged, inspect the ring gear.
If any defects are found, replace the bearing and gear with the
new ones.
