ENGINE OIL
Long engine life depends much on the
selection of a quality oil and the periodic
changing of the oil. Daily oil level
checks and periodic changes are two of
the most important maintenance items
to be performed.
ENGINE OIL LEVEL CHECK
Check the engine oil level with the
engine oil dipstick. The dipstick comes
out together with the oil filler cap as
shown. The level on the dipstick should
be between the “L” (Low) and “F” (Full)
lines.
The engine oil level inspection should
be performed under the following condi-
tions:
1. Place the motorcycle on the side
stand.
2. Start the engine and allow it to idle
for about three minutes. If the engine
is cold, warm up the engine suffi-
ciently.
3. Stop the engine and wait approxi-
mately three minutes.
4. Remove the oil dipstick and clean
the dipstick.
