connected to the suction
canister lid.
e. Handpiece suction fitting not
connected to the correct
port on suction canister lid.
2. Inner cutting cannula not sharp.
3. Tissue filter occluded by blood.
4. Saline line not inserted to
pinch valve.
5. Too much compression on the breast
during a stereotactic procedure.

a. Seat canister lid.
b. Replace suction canister.
c. Cap large port on canister lid
with large plug.
d. Connect suction fitting to
vacuum port marked
“patient” on side of lid.
e. Remove suction canister,
replace with a new canister
lid and bottom and place
handpiece (blue) suction
fitting on the port marked
“patient.”
2. Replace with new handpiece.
3. Replace tissue filter with a
new filter.
4. Install saline line to
pinch valve.
5. Reduce compression on breast.
