Troubleshooting
This section provides assistance with possible problems operating the ATEC
®
Breast Biopsy and
Excision System:
Sapphire
™
unit. Please consult the following information before contacting Suros
or your distributor to make sure the problem is not a result of misinterpreting the operation of the system.
If you are a Suros Customer in the U.S. or Canada, please consult your Suros Sales Representative
or contact Suros Customer Support if you cannot correct a problem using this Operator’s Manual.
If you are an international customer, please contact your distributor directly with questions
and/or comments.
Possible Problems Encountered During Set Up

Console will not
turn on
Power cord is not plugged in at
the console and/or wall outlet.
Console circuit breaker tripped.

Suction canister lid not seated on

Suction canister cracked.
Large port on suction canister lid
not capped with large plug.

connected to the suction canister lid.
Handpiece suction fitting not
connected to the correct port on
suction canister lid.
Control console vacuum line not
connected to the suction canister.
Spike on handpiece tubing is not
inserted into saline bag.
Saline Y-Valve is disconnected.
Defective handpiece.

Replace protective sheath.
Seat lid to bottom.
Replace with new suction canister.
Cap large port with large plug.
Connect suction fitting to canister.
Connect to horizontal port marked
“patient” on the side of the
canister lid.
Connect the console vacuum line
to the port marked “vacuum” on
the suction canister lid.
Install spike into saline bag.
Reconnect Y-Valve.
Retain handpiece, record Lot Number,
and contact Suros Customer Support
or your distributor.
