MAINTENANCE GUIDE FOR A 115V - 230V SUREKAP SK600
AND THE SK600 PORTION OF AN SK6000
The following suggested maintenance intervals and tasks are based on normal use of the
equipment, a 40 hour week, and a clean, dry environment. Multiple shifts, hard use, and
corrosive environments may necessitate an increase in maintenance.
Cage Block Bearing: 12 each (Ref. # B3)
•
Inspect these parts every six months or as often as necessary.
•
Replace when failure occurs.
•
These parts are factory lubricated and sealed.
•
Failure to replace when necessary can cause damage to the vertical tolomatic shafts.
Caster: 4 each (Ref. # A8)
•
Lubricate every twelve months or as often as necessary.
•
These parts are factory lubricated with standard bearing grease.
•
Failure to lubricate may cause ball bearings to seize and allow for corrosion to take place.
Chrome Cylinder Shafting: 2 each (Ref. # A3)
•
Coat with grease every month or as often as necessary.
•
These parts are factory lubricated with “red” high temperature grease.
•
Failure to lubricate may allow for corrosion to take place.
Flanged Bearing Block: 6 each (Ref. # A4, A5)
•
Lubricate every six months or as often as necessary.
• These parts are factory lubricated with “red” high temperature grease.
•
Failure to lubricate may cause binding and allow for corrosion to take place.
Gear Box (Speed reducing, mounted to the gripper belt motor): 1 each (Ref. # E3A)
•
Inspect the vent plug to insure that it is clean and operating properly and inspect for oil
leakage once a month or as often as necessary.
•
This part is filled at the factory to the proper level with Mobil SHC-634. Change the oil
only if performing maintenance or repair that requires gear box disassembly.
•
Replace the gear box if an oil leak is detected or if an inappropriate noise is omitted from
the gear box.
•
Failure to replace the gear box when necessary can cause damage to the gripper belt
motor and/or stoppage of the gripper belt drive system.
Gripper Belt: 2 or 4 each (Ref. # D13)
•
Clean and inspect once daily or as often as necessary.
•
Surekap technicians use Windex brand window cleaner.
•
Failure to keep clean may allow for an inadequate grip on the container traveling through
the machine. An inadequate grip can cause the machine to perform poorly.
•
Replace if parts become damaged or if wear prevents parts from performing properly.
•
Failure to replace when necessary can cause the machine to perform poorly.
