Place the heatsink on top of the
1.
CPU so that the four mounting
holes are aligned with those on the
retention mechanism.
Screw in two diagonal screws (i.e.
2.
the #1 and the #2 screws) until
just snug (do not over-tighten the
screws, which may damage the
CPU.)
Finish the installation by fully tight-
3.
ening all four screws.
Installing the Heatsink
Note:
The 6036T-3R uses passive
heatsinks.
Unplug the power cord from the power supply.
1.
Unscrew and remove the heatsink screws in the
1.
sequence shown in the picture below.
Hold the heatsink and
2.
gently wiggle it to loosen it
from the CPU. (Do not use excessive force when
doing this!)
Once the heatsink is loosened, remove it from
3.
the CPU.
Clean the surface of the CPU and the heatsink
4.
to get rid of the old thermal grease. Reapply the
proper amount of thermal grease before you re-
install the heatsink.
Removing the Heatsink
Warning:
We do not recommend removing the CPU or the heatsink. If
you do need to remove the heatsink, please follow the instructions below
to prevent damage to the CPU or other components.
