Installing the Motherboard
1. Review the documentation that came with your motherboard. Become familiar
with component placement, requirements, and precautions.
1. Power down the system, remove the power cords from the rear of the power
supplies and remove the chassis cover as described in Section 5-3.
2. Open the chassis cover.
3. If necessary, remove the riser card.
4. As required by your motherboard, install standoffs in any areas that do not
have a permanent standoff:
A. Compare the mounting holes on the motherboard to the mounting holes in
the chassis, then add or move standoffs to match the motherboard mounting
hole locations.
B. Place a hexagonal standoff screw through the bottom the chassis.
C. Secure the screw with the hexagonal nut (rounded side up).
5. Lay the motherboard on the chassis aligning the permanent and optional
standoffs
6. Secure the motherboard to the chassis using the rounded, Phillips head
screws. Do not exceed eight pounds of torque per square inch, when tighten-
ing down the motherboard.
7. Secure the CPU(s), heatsinks, and other components to the motherboard,
chassis, and/or backplane as needed.
