6-9 Removing and Installing the Backplane
The SCF418IL chassis backplane is located behind the hard drives and in front of
the front system fans in each node. Although backplane failure rarely occurs, in the
event of a backplane failure, follow the instructions below.
Removing the Backplane
Removing the Backplane from the Chassis
1. Power down the system and remove the power cords from the rear of the
power supplies as described in Section 6-3. Remove the node from the
chassis as described in Section 6-5 and remove the cover from the node as
described in Section 6-6.
2. Remove the node cover and air shroud.
3. Remove the two screws securing the backplane to the node.
