2.3 Motherboard Components
Processor
The E403-9D-4C/8CN/12C/14C/14CN/16C-FN13TP each features an Intel® Xeon® processor
with a range of cores and threads. The E403-9D-4C/8CN/12C/14C/14CN/16C-FN13TP
features between 4 to 16 cores and between 8 to 32 threads with a TDP between 60W to
105W and a three to seven year life cycle. For a full list of the processor details see the
tables in Section 1.1.
Memory Support
The X11SDW-4C/8C/12C/14C/14CNT/16C-TP13F supports up to 256GB of ECC RDIMM or
512GB of LRDIMM DDR4 memory in four memory slots. Populating these DIMM slots with
memory modules of the same type and size will result in interleaved memory, which will
improve memory performance.
ESD Precautions
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) can damage electronic com ponents including memory modules.
To avoid damaging your DIMM modules, it is important to handle it very carefully. The following
measures are generally sufficient to protect your equipment from ESD.
•
Use a grounded wrist strap designed to prevent static discharge.
•
Handle the memory module by its edges only.
•
Put the memory modules into the antistatic bags when not in use.
•
Check the Supermicro website for recommended memory modules.
