D. FIXED FRonT FooTREST ADJUSTMEnT (Fig. 5)
1. Remove mounting bolts on the top of each extension tube.
2. Make sure the inserts remain in place.
3. Slide footrest tube into front frame tube to desired height.
4. Line up holes and replace the bolt on the outside through frame, footrest and insert.
5. Follow same procedure on opposite side.
6. Align footrests to desired inward/outward rotational position and tighten firmly.
E. BACKREST HEIGHT ADJUSTMEnT (Fig. 6)
1. Remove the backrest upholstery from the frame.
2. You will see the backrest tube which telescopes into the frame and is secured by a
screw on the side of the frame.
3. There are holes 28 mm apart from which you may choose to set the back height.
4. Remove the two backrest bolts from the rear frame tubes.
5. After selecting the proper height, insert bolt through frame and backrest tube.
6. Attach upholstery tab to bolt and tighten nut and bolt assembly.
7. Insert nylon tie through upholstery grommets. Tighten and cut off excess nylon tie.
F. SEAT SLInG ADJUSTMEnT (Fig. 7)
The seat sling can be adjusted through the use of VELCRo® material beneath the seat.
1. Remove the screws retaining the left side seat sling.
2. Readjust VELCRo® material to adjust the tension in the seat sling.
3. Replace screws.
4. If there is any difficulty in reattaching the screws, try using a probe to help line up
the holes.
G. CUSHIon InSTALLATIon
1. Place cushion on seat sling with VELCRo® material side down. The beveled edge of
the cushion should be in front.
2. Press firmly into place.
H. REAR AXLES
The most important adjustment on your Quickie wheelchair is the position of the rear axle.
The centre of gravity, wheel camber and wheelbase are all determined by the axle adjust-
ment.
Use a torque setting of 11.3 nm when adjusting rear axle.
Centre of Gravity (Fig. 8)
Moving the centre of gravity to the front will lighten the force required to turn the chair.
The further back the axle, the more stable the chair becomes.
The centre of gravity is adjusted by moving the rear axle forward or backward on the
indexed axle plate. Moving the axle forward will increase your turning speed and lighten
the front end.
Wheel Base Width Adjustment (Fig. 9)
Adjusting the wheelbase width allows the user the option to move the wheels closer or
further away from the hips. This gives the proper wheel spacing to maximise pushing effi-
ciency.
1. Loosen the nuts, and reposition the axle sleeve (A) to the desired width.
2. Retighten nuts.
