Connecting RS485 Cable
RS485 is communication standard for bidirectional transmission of data between
more than one inverter and a PC or a data logger.
If there is more than one inverter to communicate with a PC or a data logger, it is
crucial to configure communication parameters of each inverter. See “8.8.7
Communication Parameters Settings”. And the maximum number of connected
inverters in a daisy chain is dependent on the converter device. Please refer to the
corresponding manual.
RS485 bus’ requirements to ensure quality of communication:
z
Shielding twist-pair type
z
Shielding layer of RS485 bus should be single-point grounding
SolarInfo logger and RS485-232 converter are optional parts and can be ordered from
Sungrow.
