Latch Mechanism –
The mechanism is used to release the tip
assembly from the handpiece.

Trigger –
An activated trigger provides irrigation to the surgical/wound
site.

Trigger Lock –
The lock is used to hold the trigger at either the high
irrigation flow or low irrigation flow setting.

Irrigation Tubing/Power Cord Combination –
The irrigation tubing
provides a fluid pathway from the irrigation bag to the handpiece tip
assembly. The power cord conducts electrical energy from the battery
power pack to the handpiece.

Suction Clamp –
The clamp is used to open and close the suction
tubing pathway to control suction at the handpiece tip assembly (not
included with all handpiece configurations).

Suction Tubing –
The suction tubing provides a suction pathway
from the handpiece tip assembly to the vacuum canister connected
to the facility vacuum source (not included with all handpiece
configurations).

Suction Tube Port –
The port allows connection of the suction tubing
to the handpiece (not shown).

Battery Power Pack (removable batteries) –
The battery pack
provides power to the handpiece and allows easy removal of internal

Irrigation Tube Spike –
The spike is used to pierce and connect the
handpiece irrigation tubing to the irrigation bag.

Irrigation Tube Spike Cap –
The protective spike cap is installed over
the sharp irrigation tube spike to maintain sterility and prevent damage
or injury.

Battery Power Pack (sealed) –
The battery pack provides power to
the handpiece.

Suction Tube Adapter –
The adapter is used for a large diameter
port on a vacuum fluid collection canister and may be removed if
necessary.

Instructions
To Assemble the Handpiece
WARNINGS:
• ALWAYS use aseptic technique when handling the sterile handpiece and
irrigation tubing.
• DO NOT reuse the handpiece for surgical applications or applications
requiring a sterile field.
• ALWAYS use aseptic technique when removing the irrigation tube spike cap.
Failure to comply may cause the irrigation tube spike to become contaminated
before insertion into the irrigation bag.
NOTES:
• Make sure a standard IV pole is equipped with an irrigation bag.
• Make sure the top of the fluid contained in the irrigation bag is less than 36
inches above the handpiece at all times after connecting the handpiece.
