This item allows the processor to classify areas in memory by where applica tio n
code can excute and where in cannot. When a malicious worm attem pts to insert
code in the bu ff er, the processor disables code ex cution, preven ting damage or worm
propagation. Replacing older computers with Excute Disable Bit enabled systems
can halt worm a tt acks, reducing the need for virus related repair.
