Netra System: Installing a U916 PCI Card
To install a U916 PCI card in a Netra Series 20/T4 system, perform the following steps.
As you perform each step, refer to the associated figure.
1. Shut down (enter
init 0)
and power off the system.
2. Remove the cover from the chassis (see your Netra 20/T4 series documentation).
3. Identify the slot(s) into which you intend to install the PCI card(s), as described in
“Netra System: Locating the PCI Card Slots” earlier in this chapter.
4. Touch the side of the chassis to discharge any static electricity (see your Netra
20/T4 series documentation).
C A U T I O N
To avoid damaging the PCI card, leave the card in its
static-protective envelope until you are ready to install it.
When you remove the card, hold it by its edges.
5. Remove the U916 PCI card from its static-protective envelope.
6. Align the U916 PCI card with the appropriate slot in the chassis and with the
backplane connector (see Figure 3-4 and Figure 3-5).
