SunFire System: Locating the PCI Card Slots
The PCI cards in a SunFire V480 series system are installed in PCI card slots accessed
from the top of the cabinet. The usable slots for a U916 PCI card are labelled PCI 0,
PCI 1, and PCI 2, which appear from left-to-right in Figure 3-2 and Figure 3-3. (The
other three slots are half length and cannot accommodate a U916 PCI card.) Note that
PCI 0 and PCI 1 are to the left of the existing RSC card, while PCI 2 is to the right.
Table 3-2 lists which slots (in order) to use depending on the number of U916 PCI cards
you install. (Install cards as indicated in Table 3-2; failure to do so can result in an
instance numbering problem that might prevent proper configuration of the cards.)
