General maintenance information
Staff training and qualifications for
maintenance and repairs
Only qualified and authorized staff may carry
out the maintenance. The annual inspection
must be performed by an expert. The expert
must provide his opinion and safety assess-
ment irrespective of the internal and finan-
cial circumstances of the company. Only the
safety aspect is decisive. He must have ad-
equate knowledge and experience to assess
the state of the vehicle and the effectiveness of
the protective devices in accordance with the
rules of technology and the basic principles of
fork trucks.
Battery maintenance personnel
Batteries may only be charged, serviced and
replaced by specially trained personnel and in
accordance with the instructions of the battery
charger. Observe the battery handling and
charger operating instructions.
Services not requiring special quali-
fications
Simple maintenance services such as check-
ing the hydraulic oil level or the electrolyte level
of the battery may be performed by unqualified
staff. A qualification such as for the previously
mentioned work is not necessary. Refer to
the maintenance section of these operating
instructions for further information hereto.
