5. cleaning, maintenance and care
Risk of injury
Before cleaning and maintenance work, always discon-
nect the power supply, for example to prevent the fan
starting automatically while the work is being carried
out. Ensure that the power supply is secured against
unintentional reconnection.
5.1 cleaning the internal appliance
There are filter mats inside the appliance, through which the room
air is continually circulated, and thereby cleaned. A rise in the
number of filtered particles results in a decline in the efficiency of
the appliance. You should therefore carry out the following work
every two weeks.
f
Disconnect the power supply.
f
Wipe the casing and remote control with a damp cloth. Never
use abrasive or corrosive cleaning agents. Ensure that no
water can enter the inside of the appliance.
f
Pivot the front cover up until you hear it lock.
f
Remove the filter mats and vacuum thoroughly.
f
Wash the filter mats in mild, lukewarm, soapy water and
then rinse with clean water.
f
Let the filter mats dry completely. For this, never use any
strong heat sources, such as a hairdryer. This could make the
filter mats lose their shape.
Risk of injury
When cleaning the filter, wear suitable safety goggles
and, if you suffer from allergies, a dust mask to protect
yourself from dust.
!
Risk of damage
Never operate the appliance without a filter. This can
lead to faults.
!
Risk of damage
Pivot the front flap carefully, no further than into a
horizontal position, so as not to damage the hinges.
5.2 maintenance and care
Please note maintenance intervals that may have been reduced
as well as country-specific regulations.
Inform your contractor or service operation in plenty of time to
have the system serviced correctly and professionally. Maintenance
must be carried out by specialised personnel.
f
Clean the internal appliance, filter mats and air outlet duct.
f
Vacuum the heat exchanger thoroughly.
f
Check the electrical connections.
5.3 taking the appliance out of use
f
Operate the appliance for at least four hours in FAN mode to
dry it from the inside.
f
Isolate the appliance from the power supply.
f
Clean the filter mats.
f
Remove the batteries from the remote control.
