Final Assembly Continued
Control Linkages Continued
60. Slide one of the tubes onto the elevator pushrod. This will later be attached
to the fuselage to serve as a pushrod guide.
61. Study the Pushrod Detail on the detail sheet, and make a “Z” bend in one
end of a short length of 0.015 wire (part “B”). Fit the “Z” bend to the elevator
horn, and connect parts A and B with a 1/2 in. length of the pre-shrunk
tubing. Center the control surface, allowing part A and B to slide past each
other within the heat shrink tube, and apply a TINY drop of medium CA to
each end of the heat shrink tube.
62. Repeat steps 57, 58, 60 and 61 to create and install the rudder pushrod,
passing it through the exit slot on
TOP
of the wing, to the
LEFT
of the
fuselage.
Position the yellow nylon tubes about midway between the wing and the
control surfaces. Bond the tubes to the sides of the fuselage with small
drops of medium CA. Ensure that no glue enters the tubes, and that the
pushrod can move freely through the tubes.
63. Make a “Z” bend in one end of a short length of 0.015 wire. Fit this Z” bend
to the center hole on the aileron servo.
64. Make a “Z” bend in the end of another short length of 0.015 wire, and fit this
to the outer hole on the
LEFT
side of the aileron bell crank. Connect the two
wires as described in step 61.
65. Follow the same procedure as in steps 63 and 64 to make and install the
aileron pushrods. The pushrods will connect to the center hole in each end
of the aileron bell crank.
Wheels
66. Refer to the “Landing Gear Detail” on the detail sheet. Using small needle
nose pliers, bend the landing gear from the 0.025 wire supplied in your kit.
