an ascender (not using the low est o f the nine vertical dots) or a descender
(not using the highest d ot) and w hether it has a dow nw ard extension to
12 dots.
The attribute byte a2 gives proportional-spacing inform ation. Bit 7 is
ignored. Hits 4 to 6 specify the offset to the first byte printed (0 to 7),
enabling lending spaces in the character to be ignored. Bits 0 to 3 specify
the width o f the character cell (m axim um 11 dots). The character will
be follow ed by a m andatory blank d ot colum n which is not included in
this width.
