Pump runs with too low a performance
Possible cause
Solution
Pump drawing air in.
Increase the liquid level.
Pipe or hose diameter too
small.
Increase it to the diameter
of the pump connection.
Shut-off valve not fully open.
Check
and
open.
Pipe or hose is too long.
Shorten
it.
Dynamic head is too high.
Check
it.
Pump parts or pressure line
partly blocked due to
contamination.
Check
and
clean it.
Impeller and suction plate
worn.
Replace the parts or send
the pump in for servicing.

No flow rate but the motor is turning
Possible cause
Solution
Dynamic head is too large.
Check
it.
Pump parts or pipework dirty.
Check

clean.
Shut-off valve is closed.
Check

open.
Liquid level too low.
Increase the liquid level to
approximately 2/3 of the
pump height.
Air bubble in the pump (mainly
during initial commissioning).
Increase the liquid level to
approximately the height
of the pump.
