Troubleshooting
No picture at one, several or all monitors/TVs
• First check if the monitor/TV works properly when directly connected to the Blu-ray player (without
using the splitter).
• Check the cable/plug connections between the splitter and the monitor/TV or Blu-ray player respec
-
tively. Replace damaged cables.
• Use a high-quality HDMI cable. This applies especially for higher resolutions (Full HD or 4K) and
operation in 3D.
• Change the sequence of the monitors/TVs connected to the splitter.
• The resolution (or colour depth) of the Blu-ray player’s output signal is too high (one monitor/TV
displaying a message such as “Mode not supported” or similar).
Select operating mode “A” (then briefly switch the splitter off and on again, or briefly press the reset
button).
In this operating mode, the splitter transfers the “lowest” resolution supported by all connected
monitors to the Blu-ray player.
• Connect one of the non-functioning monitors/TVs to output 1 of the splitter and then select opera
-
ting mode “B” (then briefly switch the splitter off and on again, or briefly press the reset button).
• The Blu-ray player cannot automatically switch between the resolution/colour depth received from
the splitter or you have set a certain resolution/colour depth in the menu of the Blu-ray player.
In such a case, activate the automatic function for switching resolution/colour depth or select a
lower resolution/colour depth in the settings menu of the Blu-ray player.
• Turn on the monitor/TV, splitter and Blu-ray player.
• Select the correct input on the monitor/TV.
• If the Blu-ray player is equipped with different outputs, open the settings menu of the Blu-ray player
to check if the correct output has been activated.
• Briefly press the reset button on the splitter.
• In order to play copyright movies, your monitor/TV must support HDCP standard.
When connecting a new monitor/TV during operation, all other monitors/TVs loose the video
(black screen)
• When having selected operating mode “A” with the slide switch and connecting another monitor/TV
during operation of the splitter, the splitter analyses the EDID information (e.g. resolution and colour
depth.
If the resolution/colour depth is lower than the one of the monitors/TVs already connected, the
splitter transfers these information to the Blu-ray player which then will change the resolution/colour
depth.
When changing the resolution/colour depth, there will be a short video loss at all monitors/TVs
connected.
No sound
• The monitor/TV is connected via DVI cable and adapter. The DVI connection does not transfer
audio signals.
Always use HDMI-compatible interfaces to connect monitors/TVs.
If the only interface on your monitor/TV is a DVI interface (and not HDMI), then do not connect this
device as first active device when running in operating mode “B”.
• Briefly press the reset button on the splitter.
• A recording device that does not support HDCP has been connected to the splitter. Disconnect this
device from the splitter and then press the reset button on the splitter.
Only stereo sound instead of HD audio sound
• Connect an HD audio amplifier to output 1 of the splitter. Furthermore, select operating mode “B”.
Then connect the monitors/TVs to the other outputs.
If the resolution/colour depth is then too low during playback, you might have to set those in the
settings menu of the Blu-ray player.
No 3D picture
• Both the Blu-ray player and the monitors/TVs connected to the splitter must support the same 3D
format.
• Check if the Blu-ray player and monitors/TVs are 3D-compatible. Play a 3D movie. Check if the 3D
function of the Blu-ray player has been activated.
• Use a high-quality HDMI cable.
• If one (or more) of the monitors/TVs connected do not support 3D while running in operating mode
“A”, then there is no 3D playback available.
If you still want to display a 3D picture on the 3D-compatible monitor/TVs, then connect one of the
3D-compatible devices to output 1 of the splitter and select operating mode “B”. Then briefly press
the reset button on the splitter.
All devices that are not 3D-compatible will then be without video or show an error message.
Problems recognizing new monitors/TVs
• Press the “Reset” button on the splitter. The splitter will then restart and read the EDID information
(e.g. resolution and colour depth).
• Use the slide switch to select operating mode “A” and then briefly switch the splitter off and on again
or press the reset button on the splitter.
• When having selected operating mode “B”, the system will only read the EDID information of the
first available output and transfer them to the Blu-ray player.
• Select the correct input on the monitor/TV.
• Check the cable connection between splitter and monitor/TV.
• Use a high-quality HDMI cable. This applies especially for higher resolutions (Full HD or 4K) and
operation in 3D.
