Symptom

Machine does not
start or power
supply breaker
immediately trips
after startup.

EMERGENCY STOP button
depressed/at fault.

Rotate EMERGENCY STOP button head to reset.
Replace if at fault.

Machine circuit breaker tripped.

Reset circuit breaker on control panel.
3.
Incorrect power supply voltage or
circuit size.

Ensure correct power supply voltage and circuit
size.

Power supply circuit breaker
tripped or fuse blown.

Ensure circuit is free of shorts. Reset circuit breaker
or replace fuse.
5.
Thermal overload relay has tripped/
at fault.

Reset. Adjust or replace if at fault.
6.
Start capacitor at fault.

Test/replace if at fault.
7.
Contactor not energized/at fault.

Test all legs for power; replace if necessary.

Wiring broken, disconnected, or
corroded.

Start button or circuit breaker

Clean/tension/replace belts (Page 38) ; ensure
pulleys are aligned (Page 44).

Pulley/sprocket slipping on shaft.

Tighten/replace loose pulley/shaft.

Machine undersized for task.

Use sharp inserts; reduce feed rate/depth of cut.
6.
Motor overheated, tripping machine
circuit breaker.

Clean motor/let cool, and reduce workload. Reset
breaker.
7.
Run capacitor at fault.

Test/repair/replace.
8.
Extension cord too long.
8.
Move machine closer to power supply; use shorter
extension cord.
9.
Contactor not energized/at fault.

Test all legs for power; repair/replace if at fault.
10.
Centrifugal switch/contact points
