Lifting & Moving
This machine and its
parts are heavy! Serious
personal injury may occur
if safe moving methods are
not used. To reduce the
risk of a lifting or dropping
injury, ask others for help
and use power equipment.
The Models SB1108 and SB1109 require the use
of lifting equipment such as a forklift, engine
hoist, or boom crane. DO NOT attempt to lift or
move planer without necessary assistance from
other people. Each piece of lifting equipment
must be rated for at least 1000 lbs. to support
dynamic loads that may be applied while lifting.
The cabinet stand of your planer is equipped
with four lifting bars that pull out in order to
lift and place the planer as shown in Figure 14
using a forklift or lifting slings.
Note:
When positioning lift forks, place shop rags
or cardboard between the forks and cabinet stand
to avoid scratching the paint.
To assemble planer:
This machine must be fully assembled before it
can be operated. Before beginning the assembly
process, refer to Required for Setup and gather
all listed items. To ensure the assembly process
goes smoothly, first clean any parts that are
covered or coated in heavy-duty rust preventative
(if applicable).
Review the Power Supply section on Page
13, then prepare a permanent location for the
planer.
