Operation
Starting Up
Start the system using the following procedures:
1
Press the ON side of the POWER switch
“Power ON” appears in the display window, and
the display changes to “Initial Request.”

Press and hold the INITIAL button for more than
five seconds.
The system is initialized.
When initialization is completed, “IN USE”
appears in the display window.
Note
This step may be unnecessary for some settings of
the display panel.

Start the PSC using the following procedure:
Perform the following steps to start Windows
NT.
1)

Turn the power to the computer ON.
The Log-On window opens in several minutes.
Open the MMT (Monitoring & Maintenance
Terminal) window following the steps below.

When the Log-On window opens, press
[Ctrl]
+
[Alt]
+
[Del]
keys.

Enter the user name and password set when
installing the PSC, then choose OK.
4
Double-click on the PetaSite Controller of the
PSC utilities in the Program Manger window.
The MMT Main window will then open.
Note
The PSC is initially set so that steps
2
to
4
above are automatically performed when the
computer is turned on.
Ending
Terminate the system using the following procedure:
1
Shut down the PSC using the same procedures as
used to exit Windows.

Click the F icon on the upper left of the
Program Manager window.

Choose CLOSE.
A message for confirmation appears.

Choose CLOSE then OK.

Press the OFF side of the POWER switch.
Two to twenty seconds are required for the power
to go off after you set the switch to OFF. When
the power goes off, all indicators on the display
panel go dark.
If tape transport is in progress, the power will
remain on until the tape-transport operation is
completed.
