Adjusting the Balance of the
Accompaniment and the
Vocals
While you’re playing karaoke with a karaoke disc (a
multiplex disc), you can emphasize the vocals or the
accompaniment as you like.
Adding richness to your voice
(Karaoke Star)
If you feel that your voice lacks depth, use the karaoke
star function.

Press MPX while playing a multiplex disc.
“MPX” appears in the front panel display and on
the TV screen.
The sound you hear will have a simulated stereo
effect.

Turn the VOCAL LEVEL control to adjust the
balance of the accompaniment and the vocals.
When you turn the

The adjustment may be the opposite of that described
above, depending on the disc you are using.
To stop adjusting the balance
Press MPX again. “MPX” disappears from the front panel
display.
Notes
• When you press MPX in Step 1, the surround sound mode
(see page 23) is automatically set to KARAOKE. You can
change or cancel the surround sound mode if you like. The
last surround sound mode setting is resumed whenever
you press MPX.
• If you press KARAOKE PON (see page 26), MPX will be
automatically canceled.
• When you select ON SCREEN OFF display mode, no
information is shown on the TV screen.
You will hear the sound as

KARAOKE STAR
Press KARAOKE STAR. The KARAOKE STAR
indicator-button on the player lights and “K.STAR 1”
appears on the TV screen. Initially, the effect level is
low.
K. STAR 1
To increase the effect level, press KARAOKE STAR
again. “K.STAR 2” appears on the TV screen, and the
effect level becomes high. Each time you press the
button while playing a disc, the on-screen indication
changes as follows:

When you locate another track during playback
The key automatically returns to the original key.
To cancel Karaoke Star
Press KARAOKE STAR so that the KARAOKE STAR
indicator-button goes off.
Notes
• When you use KARAOKE STAR, the ECHO LEVEL control
should be set to the appropriate level.
• In stop mode, “K. STAR OFF” does not appear on the TV
screen even when you press KARAOKE STAR.
• When you select ON SCREEN OFF display mode, no
information is shown on the TV screen.
