Beaming information (beaming between Palm OS PDA)
Your CLIE handheld is equipped with an IrDA (infrared) port that you can
use to beam information to another Palm OS handheld that is close by and
also has an IrDA port. You can exchange business cards, copy installed
applications, etc (see “Beaming information” on page 203).
Installing applications
In the factory configuration, your CLIE handheld comes with basic
applications, such as the Date Book, the Address Book, etc. In addition to
these applications, you can install add-on applications such as shareware
applications or freeware games which run on the Palm OS, to customize
your CLIE handheld in your own way (see “Installing Applications” on
page 177).
Synchronizing data with your computer
You can synchronize your data by connecting your CLIE handheld directly
to your computer with the cradle. This process is called HotSync. Your data
can be backed up on your computer constantly so that you can restore the
data after you perform a hard reset (see “Exchanging and Updating Data
Using HotSync Operations” on page 163).
