The BZP-100 Camera PC Setup Unit comprises the
following two items:
• The BZP-100 software which runs on a personal
computer and controls the camera system including
camera control units, camera command network
units, and standalone cameras
• An interface box for protocol conversion which is
positioned between the personal computer and the
camera system.
This makes setup operations on the cameras easy,
using a graphical user interface on the computer
screen.
The software runs under Microsoft Windows
1)
on an
IBM PC/AT
1)
or compatible computer. It requires one
RS-232C serial port in order to control either a
standalone camera or a camera system.
This section describes the functions of the software,
and the system as a whole.
Note
Since this program is always able to change the
settings on any of the connected devices, be careful
to avoid inadvertent operation while on the air.

Functions
• The following can be controlled:
Cameras — BVP-700, BVP-750, BVP-500, BVP-550
Camera Control Unit — CCU-700, CCU-550
Camcorder — DVW-700/700WS, DNW-7/90/90WS
(The above are the NTSC models; the corresponding
PAL versions with a suffixed ‘P’ are also supported.)
• The setup operations are carried out based on a text
file of setup information for each device type. This
allows the following operations to be carried out:
— Daily operation
— Setup customization
— Service
• These files can be saved on the hard disk or a floppy
disk on the computer, and by copying settings from
one camera to another it is easy to ensure matching
results.
• Scene files and reference files can also be copied on
the computer, for easy management of these files.
• The interface box supports the ISR (Interactive Status
Reporting) protocol for cameras, camera control
units, and so forth. (Requires the separate BZI-500
software.)
• Some functions provide graphical waveform displays,
allowing control from the waveform display.
• There is a user-defined window function. By creating
a text file including the setup items to go in the
window, you can carry out the mostly commonly
required settings in a single customized window.
