5. 4. 20.    Noise Reduction
5. 4. 21.    Noise Reduction V

The noise reduction settings are used to eliminate acoustic noise and random noise from

other ships as well as the sea clutter generated during bad sea conditions. 10 settings from
“NR1” to “NR10” are available. The standard setting is ”NR5.” While “NR1” is the weakest

signal processing,

“NR10” is the strongest signal processing. Normally the standard setting

should  be  used  because  the  PP  FILTER  function  can  deteriorate  the  image  smoothing.
The  “  Noise  Reduction”  and  “  Noise  Reduction  V”  are  used  for  setting  the  horizontal

images and the vertical images, respectively.

5. 4. 22    STC Level
5. 4. 23    STC Level V

5. 4. 24    Screen Mode

The screen mode is used to change the sonar screen mode. There are several modes. For

more details, refer to Chapter 6.

5. 4. 25.    Sub Screen 1
5. 4. 26.    Sub Screen 2
5. 4. 27.    Sub Screen 3
5. 4. 28.    Sub Screen 4

Sub screen 1 to 4 are used to  select the sub  area mode from several modes. The mode

can be changed without opening the sub area mode menu.

5. 4. 29. Stabilization

The  stabilization  is  used  to  detect

the  pitching  and  rolling  of  the  ship  and  to  control  the

TX/RX  beam  to  face

in  a  certain  direction.  When  this  setting  is  “ON”,  the  stabilizing

operation  is  enable

d.  The  “Stabilization”  function  is  effective  for  searching  a  fish  school

because  this function  can  display  stable  images  on  the  screen  regardless  of  the  pitching

and rolling of the ship.

5. 4. 30.    Tilt Mode

This function is used to select the tilt mode. When the

“Auto” is selected, automatic tilt can

be  repeated  with  the  mode  selected  by

“Auto  Tilte”.  When  the  “One”  is  selected,  the

operation selected by

“Auto Tilt” can be performed only once. When “Tracking” is selected,

Event 1 can be tracked and the tilt is changed according to the tracking.
