3.1 Introduction
This section includes the basic information you need to begin using Radian as
quickly as possible. Refer to the indicated sections of this manual for more de-
tailed information about the relevant topics.
3.2 Description of Supplied Parts

Radian AHRS instrument
The Radian instrument, shown in Fig 2 in its 300m depth-rated form, contains all
the accelerometers, rate-of-turn gyros, and earth magnetic field sensors together
with the supporting electronics.
There are no user serviceable parts inside the instrument housing. Do not
open the housing for any reason.
All connections to the Radian instrument pass through a single 8-pin subcon wa-
terproof connector at the forward-facing end of its housing. Refer to sub-section
“Electrical Connections” beginning on page 11 for a summary of the connections
