SOUND PRESSURE MEASUREMENT
1. Turn the dial button to the
dB
mark.
2. The measured sound pressure in front of the sensor can be read from the display. Turn the device into the direction of the sound source.
Note:
The rapid measurement function allows for the measurement of abrupt noises and peak values. In order to read an intermediate value,
press the
HOLD
button. A wind speed exceeding 10m/sec can cause false measurements. In such cases use a wind shield placed in
front of the microphone.

The accuracy of a different value shown on the display cannot be guaranteed.
MEASUREMENT OF LUMINOSITY
1. Set the dial button to the
Lux
or
x10Lux
mark.
2. Direct the sensor located on the side of device towards the light source to be measured.
3. Read the display.
Note:
If the display shows the "OL" sign, select a higher measurement range.
In case of measuring a light source, the measurement distance should be
more than 15 times the diameter of the light source. Due to the special
properties of light, the measurement result shown is only for informational
purposes. The built-in photo diode determines spectral sensitivity together
with its filters. This has the below characteristics.

REPLACING BATTERIES AND FUSES
BEFORE STARTING THIS PROCESS, SWITCH OFF THE DEVICE AND DISCONNECT THE TEST LEADS IN ORDER TO AVOID AN
ELECTRIC SHOCK. DO NOT USE THE DEVICE WHEN THE COVER OF THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT IS NOT FIXED IN PLACE.
A warning shown on the display indicates whenever battery replacement is needed. When such warning appears, battery supply
voltage is below approx. 3.6 V. When batteries are depleting, the warning sign can appear when the backlight of the display is turned
on, even if the supply voltage of the battery is higher than this amount. Accuracy of measurements cannot be guaranteed when
measurements are made irrespectively of the warning sign.
In order to change the batteries (4 x AA 1.5 V alkali) fold the support stand on the back of the device upwards. Unscrew the two screws
and remove the cover of the battery compartment. Observe the correct polarity of batteries. Correct polarity is indicated inside the
battery compartment. Remove the batteries whenever the device is not used for a longer period of time.
• Do not use batteries of various brands and/or status together. Batteries can only be replaced by adults. Do not allow children to play
with the batteries.
• NOTICE! INCORRECT BATTERY REPLACEMENT CAN CAUSE AN EXPLOSION HAZARD. ONLY USE EQUIVALENT OR
INTERCHANGEABLE BATTERIES FOR REPLACEMENT. DO NOT EXPOSE THE BATTERIES TO DIRECT HEAT OR SUN LIGHT.
