In small measurement ranges – due to the high sensitivity of the device – values can appear on the display while the test leads are still
unconnected. This is not a fault of the device. After connection with the measured circuit the actual value will be shown on the display.
In certain cases, use of the relative measurement function is practical, when the display does not definitely reset to zero.

AC VOLTAGE MEASUREMENT
1. Connect the test leads to the device as shown on the figure.
2. Turn the dial button to the
V
mark.
3. Using the
FUNCTION
button select
AC
mode. The
AC
sign will appear on the display.
4. Connect the test leads in series connection with the measured circuit.
5. Power the measured circuit and read the displayed figure.
Note:
The AC 400mV measurement range can only be selected manually
(using the
RANGE
button). By pressing the
Hz%
button, the frequency and power factor
of the alternating voltage can be measured. For further information refer to the frequency
measurement section.

DC AND AC CURRENT MEASUREMENT
1. Connect the test leads to the device.
2. Set the dial button to the
µA
,
mA
or
A
mark, depending on the current value to be measured.
3. Using the
FUNCTION
button select
AC
or
DC
measurement mode. Check whether the display
shows the
AC
or
DC
sign appropriate to the current type to be measured.
4. Connect the test leads in
series connection
with the yet unpowered circuit to
be measured. Based on the current value to be measured, connect the red test lead to the
mA
or
10A
jack. Connect the red test lead to the
COM
jack.
5. Power the measured circuit and read the displayed figure.
Note:
If the amount of current to be measured does not exceed 400mA, connect the red test lead to
the
mATemp
jack and perform the measurement with the dial button set to the
µA / mA
position.
When the approximate current amounts to be measured are unknown, always select a higher measurement range at first.
Use the
10A
jack and
A
dial button position. By pressing the
Hz%
button, the frequency and power factor of the alternating
current can be measured. For further information refer to the frequency measurement section.
