VF
Passthrough
The
following
procedure
uses
the
VMware
vSphere
Web
Client
to
configure
SR
‐
IOV
VF
passthrough.
The
procedure
is
documented
in
the
.
Assumptions
The
procedure
assumes
the
following
tasks
are
complete:
•
A
VM
has
been
created
and
the
guest
OS
installed.
•
A
Solarflare
SFN7000
or
SFN8000
series
adapter
is
physically
installed
on
the
host.
•
The
Solarflare
VMware
net
driver
package
is
installed
on
the
host.
•
A
Solarflare
net
driver
is
installed
in
the
VM.
•
The
Solarflare
adapter
exposes
VFs
to
the
host
OS.
•
On
the
host
a
vswitch
has
been
created
and
the
PF(s)
from
the
Solarflare
adapter
are
selected
as
uplinks.
Enable
SR
‐
IOV
on
the
Host
Adapter

In
the
vSphere
Web
Client,
navigate
to
the
host.

Select
the
Manage
tab
>
Networking
>
Physical
Adapters
to
list
all
available
host
adapters.

Select
the
required
Solarflare
adapter,
then
select
the
pencil
(
edit
)
icon.
